Corona Regional Medical Centers’ attempt to overturn a vote by its nurses to join a union has been rejected.
There was no evidence that the vote, which was conducted in January, was invalid and should be thrown out, according to a report originally published by The Press-Enterprise.
The report cited a Nov. 15 ruling by an administrative law judge with the National Labor Relations Board, which oversees labor practices. Nurses voted 155 to 116 to join the United Nurses Association of California/Union of Health Care Professionals, according to the report.
The judge ruled that the vote be certified. Coronal Regional officials have until Nov. 29 to challenge the decision, according to the report.
