A fitness center will occupy part of a former Kmart in Ontario.
Planet Fitness has leased 24,345 square feet of the 100,000-square-foot structure at 1670 E. Fourth St., according to Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga.
Terms of the lease were not disclosed.
Progressive Real Estate negotiated the agreement and is marketing two other parcels on the property.
The site is part of the Vineyard Freeway Center near Interstate 10. As estimate 237,000 vehicles pass by the site every day.
The fitness center is expected to open early next year.
Planet Fitness is based in Hampton, N.H. It is a franchisor and operator with more than 13.6 million members and 1,800 stores in the United States, Puerto Rico, Canada, the Dominican Republic, Panama and Mexico, according to the company’s website.
