Former Big Lots site is sold

A Fontana building formerly occupied by Big Lots has been sold for $2.7 million.

Red Mountain Group, a Santa Ana-based real estate developer, sold the structure to Mirian LP, a private investment group, according to a statement.

Red Mountain Group bought the building at 17093 Valley Blvd earlier this year from Big Lots Inc. It was part of a portfolio sale of 20 vacant retail big box stores.

Since then, 13 of those buildings have been leased or are in lease negotiations.

Lessees include Grocery Outlet (two stores), Savers (three stores), Red, White $ Thrift (two stores)  and Ross Dress for Less (one store).  Planet Fitness, Ace Hardware, and Dollar Tree have also signed leases on individual buildings from the portfolio.

The terms of those agreements were not disclosed.

More tenant signings are expected to be announced soon, according to the statement.
