Garner Holt, founder of Garner Holt Productions in San Bernardino, will receive a lifetime achievement award from one of the amusement park industry’s major trade groups.
Holt, whose company designs and manufactures animatronics, action equipment, themed environments and special effects, will be recognized April 5 by the Themed Entertainment Association, according to a report published in The Press-Enterprise.
The ceremony will be held following a three-day conference at the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim. Holt’s award is named for Buzz Price Thea, the man who scouted the location for Disneyland, according to the report.
Garner Holt Productions has built more than 500 figures for all but one of Disney’s 11 parks, and many Disney imagineers were on the committee that gave Holt the award, according to the report.
