Fourteen local nonprofits receive donations

Growing Inland Achievement, a regional organization that tries to boost the Inland Empire economy by improving local education, has donated $255,000 to 14 local nonprofits and organizations.

The grants will help Inland Empire students with technology, basic needs, and college transition, according to a statement.

Grant recipients include BLU Educational Foundation, $30,000,  OneFuture Coachella Valley, $30,000, Great Harvest Community Center, $25,000, Ontario-Montclair Promise Scholars, $25,000, Great Harvest Community Center, $25,000 and UC Riverside, $15,000.

Growing Inland Achievement’s goal is to increase postsecondary education credentials,  add  more qualified people to the workforce and contributing to a thriving economy, according to the statement.

With support from the GIA, the 14 organizations  can continue to provide services to students affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
