Plans to shut down Interstate 15 in part of Murrieta have been put on hold, although probably not for long.
Last week, the city’s website included a notice that stated that Interstate 15 would be closed for several hours on April 28, where the freeway crosses Los Alamos Road, according to a report published in The Press-Enterprise.
Los Alamos Road was also expected to close, but both thoroughfares will remain open this week because a planned bridge demolition has been postponed until May 12.
The city is widening a two-lane bridge that becomes congested during rush hour. The improvements are being done in phases, and Murrieta officials hope to have completed the renovated four-lane bridge by August, according to the report.
