ShipBob, a private company that provides fulfillment service for ecommerce businesses, has opened a operation in Moreno Valley that will employ 100 people.
The 185,000-square-foot facility at 28010 Eucalyptus Ave. is the company’s largest fulfillment center in the United States, and is about five times larger than its Los Angeles operation, according to a statement.
The Moreno Valley facility, which is within 15 miles of UPS, FedEx and several other carriers, is expected to ship millions of units this year. It will offer two-day shipping in the greater Los Angeles area, and expanded next-day and two-day shipping coverage up and down the west coast.
“Los Angeles has been one of the most beneficial shipping locations for our merchants, and we knew we wanted to keep our roots there as we expanded into a much larger space,” Dhruv Saxena, ShipBob’s chief executive officer and co-founder, in the statement. “We have many customers near there and even more who import into those ports.”
Last month, ShipBob was ranked 99th on Inc. 5000’s list of fastest-growing companies in the United States. In the past year, ShipBob has added 334,000 square feet of fulfillment space, including a 150,000 square feet operation in Bethlehem, Pa.
