Pamela Galera has been named Riverside’s director of parks, recreation, and community services.
A 15-year employee of Anaheim’s community services department – including the last three as parks manager – Galera oversaw 70 full-time and part-time employees, 66 urban and natural parks, and 700 acres of parkland, according to a statement on Riverside’s website.
“Pamela Galera’s experience in Anaheim makes her well-equipped to develop the opportunities we are embracing,” Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson said in the statement “I look forward to working with her on ensuring our residents have the best possible experience at our parks, ball fields, and trails.”
Galera is a licensed landscape architect with the state of California and has managed several public art installations, according to the statement.
