David A. Garcia has been named general manager of Riverside Public Utilities, after holding that position on an interim basis since April.
Garcia has 30 years of experience in the water industry, including a stint as RPU’s assistant general manager for water delivery, according to a statement on the city’s website.
He has also worked as director of water Operations at Eastern Municipal Water District.
“I am honored to have the opportunity to take what I have learned as Interim General Manager and translate that into long-term success for RPU,” Garcia said in the statement. “I look forward to working with our professional staff, our mayor and city council, and our board of public utilities to create an even more professional and resilient RPU.”
