Daniel Garcia has been named Riverside’s interim general manager of public utilities.
Garcia is replacing Todd Corbin, who is leaving Riverside to become general manager of the Chino Basin Watermaster, according to a statement on Riverside’s website.
“Danny Garcia’s experience and knowledge of the utility industry and its challenges make him the right person to keep RPU moving forward,” City Manager Mike Futrell said in the statement. “His leadership will ensure that [the department] continues to provide reliable water and power to its customers.”
A 40-year veteran of the public utilities industry, Garcia has spent the last five years as RPU’s deputy general manager. Since joining the department in 2007 he has served as market operations manager, interim planning manager and utilities scheduler/trader, according to the statement.
