David Gardner has been named president and chief executive officer of Ajinomoto Foods North America Inc. in Ontario.
Gardner replaces Hiroshi Kaho, who was promoted to executive officer, executive vice president, and chief human resources officer for Ajinomoto Co., Ajinomoto Foods’ Tokyo-based parent company, according to a statement.
“Dave is the right leader at the right moment,” Kaho said in the statement. “Ajinomoto Foods has built a strong foundation with a clear sense of purpose, and a portfolio that is uniquely positioned for where consumers are heading.”
Gardner was Ajinomoto’s chief supply chain officer since 2022, where he helped oversee the company’s eight U.S. production facilities. He began his new position April 1.
Ajinomoto Foods makes specialty frozen food products for multiple clients, including Costco, Sam’s Club, and Walmart, according to the statement.
