Garner wins NLC award

Palm Springs Councilwoman Grace Garner has been named a recipient of the inaugural Centennial Under 40 Impact Award, which is given out by the National League of Cities.

The award recognizes elected officials under the age of 40 who work in NLC member cities, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“I am honored to receive the National League of Cities Centennial Under 40 Impact Award,” said Garner, who has served on the city council since 2019, in the statement  “I care deeply about creating a city that values and respects all residents.”

Winners were recognized for their public service, governance, and community development. During her time on the council, Garner has worked “to improve community infrastructure, and create a more equitable and sustainable city,” according to the statement.
