Golden Corral coming to Ontario

Golden Corral, the family-style restaurant chain that features an all-you-can-eat buffet and grill, has leased a site in Ontario.

The company has signed a 15-year agreement to locate at 1640 E. Fourth St., according to Progressive Real Estate Partners, which represented the restaurant chain and the property owner in the negotiations.

Construction is scheduled to start next month, with the 12,936-square-foot restaurant expected to open late this year, the Rancho Cucamonga-based commercial real estate brokerage firm said in a statement on its website.

Terms of the lease were not disclosed. The landlord is planning a renovation of the property that will include improved facades, a new color scheme and upgrades to the parking lot.

The shopping center, which covers 163,000 square feet, is in the Vineyard Freeway Center near Interstate 10. Kmart, Radio Shack and Domino’s Pizza are located there.

About 237,000 vehicles pass by the site every day, according to the statement.

Golden Corral is based in Raleigh, N.C. It has nearly 500 locations in 40 states, including 14 in California, according to the statement.
