NAIOP Inland Empire’s annual golf tournament raised $10,000 for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
About 150 real estate professionals from Riverside and San Bernardino counties played in the tournament, which was held May 1 on the Eisenhower Course at Industry Hills Golf Club in the City of Industry, according to a statement.
Founded in 1980, the foundation is a national non-profit that provides scholarships and education counseling to children whose parents died while working in special operations for the U.S. military.
It also provides financial help to families whose loved ones have been severely wounded while working in special operations, usually through grants used to pay for travel costs so both parties can visit, according to the statement.
NAIOP Inland Empire is the local chapter of the Virginia-based national commercial real estate development association. The chapter has raised $30,000 for the foundation since 2012. The chapter’s golf tournament has been raising money for various local charities since it began 20 years ago, according to the statement.
