Good news at the gas pump

Gasoline prices continued to drop this week, both in California and the Inland Empire.

Statewide, the average price of a gallon of regular gasoline as this morning was $3.14, down from $3.26 one week ago and $3.59 last month, according to AAA’s Daily Fuel Gauge Report, an online breakdown of fuel prices throughout the country.

In the Inland region, the average price of one gallon of regular was $3.24, down from $3.38 one week ago and $3.77 last month, AAA reported.

The average price of a single gallon of regular gasoline nationwide was $2.32, according to AAA.

Because off its 30 cents a gallon excise tax, which motorists pay at the pump every time they fill their tanks, as well as some federal and state taxes on gasoline, California is always at or near top of the nation’s highest gas prices.
