The Inland Empire Community Foundation is accepting grant applications from nonprofits seeking help dealing with COVID-19.
A nonprofit that provide services in San Bernardino County could receive $20,000 in aid, according to a statement on the county’s website.
The board of supervisors, which has partnered with the foundation to establish the San Bernardino County Nonprofit Assistance Fund, recently approved $5 million to help nonprofits. The money will come from The Cares Act, the federal economic stimulus bill approved last spring, and be administered by the foundation.
“Nonprofit organizations are playing a critical role keeping our county moving during this crisis,” said Supervisors Curt Hagman in the statement. “Many families rely on assistance from nonprofits during these difficult times. This grant will reimburse the expenses nonprofits are incurring due to the pandemic and help these organizations continue to make a positive impact. We appreciate the partnership with Inland Empire Community Foundation to move this program forward.”
San Bernardino County has more than 5,500 nonprofits. To recent a grant, an organization must be county-based and be able to prove an economic hardship caused by COVID-19, according to the statement.
