A Los Angeles-based group of public health clinics will expand into the Inland Empire.
St. John’s Community Health has agreed to lease four buildings – two in Indio, one in San Bernardino and one in San Jacinto – all of which are expected to be operating by the end of the year, according to a statement.
The clinics will be at:
- 1821 S. San Jacinto Ave, San Jacinto CA 92583 (2,500 sf)
- 46883 Monroe St, Indio CA 92201 (6,000 sf)
- 82025 Highway 111, Indio CA 92201 (14,800 sf)
- 1500 N. Waterman, San Bernardino CA 92404 (15,400 ft)
All four locations will start with 10-15 employees and eventually grow to 35. Each will serve 20,000 patients by the end of this year and more than 30,000 by the end of 2024, according to the statement.
Lease terms were not disclosed.
“We look forward to bringing quality health care to an area of California that has been neglected for far too long,” said Jim Mangia, president, and chief executive of St. John’s Community Health, in the statement. “Access to health care is a basic human right and it’s essential to creating stronger, more socially cohesive communities.”
Besides providing full-service primary health care services and a pharmacy, the clinics will help trans patients, people who have tested HIV-positive and homeless people, according to the statement.
