Health club up for sale

LA Fitness in Lake Elsinore is up for sale.

The facility, at 18550 Dexter Ave., opened in 2008 and is available for $13.9 million, according to CBRE Group Inc., which is marketing the property.

The club, which is next to Interstate 15, covers more than 45,000 square feet and sits on 4.2 acres. It has immediate access to Interstate 15, which accommodates about 105,000 vehicles a day in that area, CBRE stated in an e-mail describing the property.

“We’ve had several offers,” said John Read, vice president with CBRE Newport Beach and a specialist in investment sales. “The property is being well-received, but it’s still on the market.”

The project is the only national, full-service health club in that market. It’s owned by a private individual whom Read declined to name.

Costco, Lowe’s, Home Depot, Staples, Starbucks, Target and Walgreens are all within LA Fitness’ trade area. Also, Walmart plans to build a supercenter next door to the LA Fitness site.

LA Fitness, one of the premier health club chains in the United States, operates 615 clubs in the United States and Canada.

The owner currently has a 15-year lease with three five-year renew options on the Lake Elsinore property, according to CBRE.
