Hemet Auto Mall has completed a pavement renovation that took 80 working days to complete.
The $2.6 million project, which was marked recently with a grand reopening ceremony, improves access to the facility at the southeast corner of Florida Avenue and Warren Road, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Funding for the project came from several sources, including $1.6 million from the American Rescue Plan Act, $1 million from the city and $141,738 from Measure A, a half-cent sales tax for transportation projects approved by Riverside County voters in 1988 and again in 2002.
“The Hemet Auto Mall is a vital commercial hub for our city, and this rehabilitation project reflects our commitment to infrastructure enhancement and economic growth,” said Mayor Jackie Peterson in the statement. “We encourage everyone to visit our local auto dealerships for their next vehicle purchase.”
Are you seriously expecting Hemet residents or anyone for that matter, to applaud this perfect example of abuse of funds. You not only stole measure A money, clearly marked for city transportation project, you took
1million dollar’s of hemet money as well as 1.6 million of California’s money FOR TRANSPORTATION PROJECTS!!!!!!
WHAT DO YOU SPEND IT ON JACK GOSCH OH SORRY HEMET AUTO MALL WHAT about every major street running
North/ South from Kirby to Fairview. You mean to tell me we needed the auto mall rds fixed zI call bull****!
Admit it you spent the money on yourselves (Hemet city council) and now need.something to show for it!!!!
How.about paying our cops to actually enforce the laws not just make a presence or hand it over to worthless security co. Who abuse their power and get away with it.
This is a fine example of frivolous spending shame on you all how can you sleep at night….probably damn good thanks to your sleep number bed courtesy of Hemet,California, and measure A.
