Maribel Hernandez, an administrative analyst with Apple Valley, has been named the town’s top employee for the fourth quarter.
An Apple Valley employee since December 2013, Hernandez is the planning commission secretary. She produces the agenda and minutes, and is the point of contact for incoming calls and planning-related requests at the front counter.
She also trains staff members in the department.
“Maribel’s enthusiasm in her position and bright personality have gone a long way in assisting our customers,” Mayor Curt Emick said in a statement. “Maribel has been instrumental in keeping the planning division running on a day-to-day basis and she has admirably tackled these new challenges and responsibilities.”
Hernandez was recognized at the Nov. 9 council meeting.
Nominations for employee of the quarter are submitted by peers or management. The town manager selects the honorees.
