Officials with Riverside Community Hospital discussed that facility’s expansion during a recent town hall meeting.
The renovation includes construction of a seven-story tower with private rooms and space for more patient beds, according to a published report.
The expanded facility, which is expected to create about 300 jobs, will also include more laboratory space, an office building and a parking garage, according to the report.
Construction has started and is expected to be finished by 2018.
Last year, the Riverside City Council approved a 15-year tax sharing agreement with the hospital worth $4.5 billion that is helping to pay for the expansion, according to the report.
