Waterpark must wait

A Temecula water park project that was to have started construction last spring and opened next year has been delayed indefinitely.
The company that operates Wild Rivers Waterpark in Irvine believed early this year it had arranged financing for the project, according to a published report.
However, company officials last week told the city that they’re still working on securing financial backing for the park, which is to be built on a 20-acre site at Diaz Road and Dendy Parkway that is owned by the city, according to the report.
If financing is obtained, the process for approving the project will have to start all over again, according to the report.
