IE small business loan company announces partnership

An Inland Empire company that provides government-backed loans to fledgling businesses has partnered with a similar business in Orange County.

Enterprise Funding in Redlands, which specializes in U.S. Small Business Administration 504 loans, and the Santa Ana-based Small Business Development Corp. of Orange County, will now share resources and refer clients to each other, according to officials with both businesses.

The agreement, which took about six months to put together, was announced last week at Enterprise Funding’s annual meeting.

Both companies have known each other for years and have worked together before, but this is the first time they’ve entered into a formal alliance, said Jeff Sceranka, founder and president of Enterprise Funding.

“This is going to open up a lot of opportunities for small businesses in both markets,” Scernanka told the crowd of about 50 people, which included  board members of  both companies. “We’re both looking to increase our influence in the market, and this affiliation will help us both do that.”

Both companies employ six people. The Small Business Development Corp. has agreed to change its name, Sceranka said.
