The Inland Empire Center for Entrepreneurship at Cal State San Bernardino will use a $65,000 grant to help small businesses better manage their finances.
The recent donation from Wells Fargo will also help small businesses in Riverside and San Bernardino counties grow, according to a statement on the university’s website.
“Small businesses are the heartbeat of our inland communities, and they are crucial to sustaining local jobs,” said Flor Tolley, Wells Fargo’s philanthropy and community impact specialist, in the statement. “We’re proud to work with Cal State San Bernardino to help as many small businesses as we can.”
Many small businesses say they’ve had difficulty managing their finances and adding employees in the aftermath of the pandemic, said Mike Stull, director of the entrepreneurship center, in the statement.
The entrepreneurship center is part of the Jack H. Brown College of Business and Public Administration. The IRS and U.S. Small Business Administration define a small business as one with no more than 500 employees.
