IEEP, manufacturer’s council announce partnership

The Inland Empire Economic Partnership has formed an alliance with the Manufacturer’s Council of the Inland Empire.

Officials with both organization hope that the arrangement, which was announced Wednesday, will give the manufacturer’s council – which has about 50 members – more financial and political clout within the two-county region, according to a report originally published in The Press-Enterprise.

The manufacturer’s group, which has no staff and is made up mostly of chief executive officers and other high-ranking executives, has moved its finances into the partnership. That gives the group more security, according to the report.

The alliance might also help the trade group meet one of its goals, which is to work with local colleges and train factory workers. The partnership, which is Inland Southern California’s largest business and trade group, has strong ties to both of those sectors, according to the report.
