Miki Inbody has been named superintendent of the Fontana Unified School District.
The Fontana High School and Cal State San Bernardino graduate is expected to be offered a contract at the district board’s Feb. 1 meeting, according to a statement on the district’s website.
A former district employee, Inbody is currently the assistant superintendent of education support services at San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. She was hired to lead Fontana Unified following a nationwide search.
“The board of education is proud to bring back home one of its own students ad employees to lead the district,” Board President Marcelino Serna said in the statement. “She is known as a strategic leader with strong collaborative leadership skills, and she has an unwavering belief that all students have promise.”
Inbody will replace Juan M. Lopez, who took over on an interim basis in September. One month before, Randall Basset resigned amid allegations that a Fontana school police detective was protected by district officials regarding accusations of inappropriate conduct with students, according to reports.
