Indian specialty grocery store to open in Riverside

Indian specialty grocery store to open first Inland location

A company that operates two Indian specialty grocery stores in Artesia will open a new location in Riverside.

Pioneer Cash & Carry has paid $1.75 million for space at a neighborhood shopping center at 9185 Magnolia, according to Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga.

The 10,128 square-foot storefront is next door to Family Dollar in a shopping center at Magnolia and Donald avenues. An estimated 28,360 vehicles pass by the site every day, and more than 142,400 people live within a three-mile radius of the site.

Pioneer Cash & Carry plans to open there next year.

The family-owned and operated Indian specialty grocery store sells fresh Indian and ethnic Indian brand name products. Its Artesia stores, the first of which opened in 1982, serve an area known as Little India.

Albert Lopez, a senior retail specialist with Progressive, represented the seller, a private investor from Riverside County whose name was not released, according to the statement.
