Inland Center Mall raises money for schools

Inland Center Mall recently donated $11,350 to 20 local elementary schools.

The money, which was raised through the mall’s annual Schools Cents programs, helps schools buy supplies, according to a statement.

The first place winner was St. Adelaide Academy in Highland, which received $2,000. Other recipients were Holy Rosary Academy, Anton Elementary and Our Lady of the Assumption, all in San Bernardino, Abraham Lincoln Elementary in Colton and Grand Terrace Elementary.

School Cents runs from September to May.  Each of the schools that received funding participated in mall-sponsored events, such as “We’re Sweet On Soldiers,” which sends Valentines and supplies to soldiers and veterans.

“We’ve been very privileged to work with such outstanding elementary schools that truly help our children grow,” said Terri Relf, Inland Center Mall’s senior marketing manager, in the statement.

Since it began 20 years ago, School Cents has raised nearly $227,000 for local schools, according to the statement
