Inland food bank receives donation

The Inland Empire’s largest food bank, Feeding America Riverside/San Bernardino, has received a $50,000 grant from Feeding America, a key partner of Enterprise Mobility’s Fill Your Tank® program. The Fill Your Tank program assists local food banks in their efforts to end hunger, according to a March 24 statement by Feeding America.

This grant will provide resources critical to supporting the food bank’s Nourish Now program, the program that oversees Fill Your Tank, which delivers emergency boxes of food to seniors and other individuals in Riverside and San Bernardino counties who are not able to leave home.

“Many older adults face difficult choices between basic needs like food, housing, and medication,” said Joanna Solorio, interim chief executive officer at the Inland chapter of Feeding America, in a statement “Programs like Nourish Now ensure homebound seniors can receive nutritious food delivered directly to their door, helping them stay healthy and independent.”

The Enterprise Mobility Foundation has committed $30 million through 2030 to Feeding America, according to the statement.
