Three Kaiser Permanente hospitals in the Inland Empire have received an “A” rating in safety from a national non-profit organization that promotes safety and quality care in U.S. hospitals.
Kaiser-Permanente’s Ontario, Fontana and Riverside hospitals were among 13 of that organization’s Southern California facilities that were recognized by The Leapfrog Group in Washington, D.C., according to a statement.
Moreno Valley Medical Center was not graded in the group’s 2015 Hospital Safety Score because it did not have sufficient data to report.
The Hospital Safety Score uses 28 measures of hospital safety data, all of which is available to the public, to establish grades of A,B, C, D or F. Those grades measure a facility’s ability to protect its patients health problems that can be prevented.
More than 25,000 general hospitals in the United States were graded last month, with 773 of them receiving an “A” grade.
