Inland recycling company moves to larger operation

A recycling company has opened a 100,000-square-foot facility in Pomona.

National Environmental Protection Co., better known as NEPCO, held a grand opening ceremony last week at its facility at 750 S. Reservoir St. in southeast Pomona, according to a published report.

The company, which employs more than 50 people, converts foam, cardboard and electronics packaging into material that is used for photo, art and poster frames.

NEPCO moved from its Chino facility, where it began operating in 2007, because it needs more space. The company plans to add 10 to 15 employees by the end of the year, and the larger operation in Pomona will accommodate future growth, according to the report.

NEPCO creates recycled material that resumes wood that has been processed at a mill. That material is then sold to framers.

Companies in Korea, Europe and Mexico use NEPCO’s recycled material to manufacture frames, according to the report.
