Kalaveras, the fast-casual Latin-American and Mexican food restaurant chain, has opened a location in Moreno Valley.
Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez and city council members held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Nov. 16.
“I am honored to welcome Kalaveras, another family-owned local business, to Moreno Valley,” Gutierrez said. “Kalaveras’ will fit right in with our community.”
Located at 23060 Alessandro Blvd., the Moreno Valley location is the company’s first in the city and fourth in the Inland Empire, along with locations in Riverside, Chino Hills and Rancho Cucamonga. Kalaveras operates 17 restaurants in Southern California. Its first establishment opened in Bellflower in 2016.
A Kalaveras restaurant employs about 100 full- and part-time workers, said Edward Brito, manager of the Whittier location.
The company, which has no official headquarters, plans to open 13 more Southern California restaurants, including sites in Corona, Temecula and Montclair, according to its website.
Raising Cane’s, Sprouts Farmers Market, Mr. Fries Man, Capriotti’s Sandwich Shop and Orleans & York have all opened in Moreno Valley this year, according to the city.
