Chris Karrer has returned to work as Menifee’s police chief.
Karrer was away from the job for a brief time due to an off-duty injury, according to a statement on the city’s website.
He replaces former Menifee Police Chief Pat Walsh, who filled in Karrer’s absence.
“I am thankful to Chief Walsh for returning and providing tremendous leadership to our team during my temporary leave,” Karrer said in the statement. “Menifee Police Department has become an extraordinary organization thanks to his efforts.”
Karrer, a U.S. Marine veteran, has more than 20 years of experience in local law enforcement. He has been in charge of several divisions, including patrol, traffic, investigations, operations, and support services, according to the statement.
