Loans Available for Fire Victims

The U.S. Small Business Administration has opened an office to help homeowners, renters and businesses affected by last month’s Blue Cut Fire.

The Disaster Loan Outreach Center, which opened Thursday, is at San Bernardino County Fire Station #305, 8331 Caliente Road in Hesperia, according to a county statement.

Low-interest federal disaster loans are available to businesses of all sizes, most private non-profit organizations and homeowners and renters, said J. Adalberto, Quijada, district director in the administration’s Santa Ana office.

“Low-interest disaster loans available through the SBA will be essential for local residents to recover,” said Robert Lovingood, vice chair of the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors, in the statement. “So many people have lost everything. The SBA’s streamlined process will help get folks back on their feet.”

The office will be open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday through Sept. 22. No appointment is necessary.

For application forms and more information call (800) 659-2955 or email [email protected]. Loan amounts and terms are established by the administration and are based on the applicant’s financial condition, according to the statement.
