Local incubator program expands

A business incubator in south Riverside County that was established last year is growing faster than expected.

Seven companies have joined the Temecula Valley Entrepreneur’s Exchange, which is three more than Temecula officials expected to have signed up by now when the exchange opened in November 2012, according to a report originally published in The Press-Enterprise.

The program, which is in the renovated first floor of the former city hall, started with two tenants, NZN Labs and Anywhere Science. NZN Labs makes equipment that tracks data for action sports, while Anywhere Science is developing a portable laboratory that works with iphones, according to the report.

Early this year, those two companies were joined by Baby Junk, which uses social networks to allow communities to exchange infant and young children’s items, according to the report.

Since then, those three businesses have been joined by: iWare Industries, which makes hands-free accessories for iPads; Inviscid Software, which makes software for behavioral clinics; BlueLinkx, an Internet business platform; Hawk Analytics, a software program that processes data from cellular phone calls.

About 1,300 people have attended a workshop or presentation at the incubator since it began, and another 275 have met with an official with the Small Business Development Center, which maintains an office there, according to the report.
