Local woman named to mental health board

Brenda Scott has been named executive director of the National Alliance of Mental Illness’ Mt. San Jacinto branch.

Scott became a teacher for the alliance in 1998, and since then she has served as vice president and president of the organization’s Mt. San Jacinto board, according to a published report.

The alliance advocates for better diagnosis and treatment for people with mental illness, according to the report.
