Riverside Mayor Patricia Lock Dawson has been named vice-chair of the National League of Cities’ 2023 Community and Economic Development Committee.
Victoria Woodards, league president and the mayor of Tacoma, Wash., selected Dawson for that position, according to a statement on Riverside’s website.
Dawson will be able to work closely with other leaders of the League of Cities on issues that impact cities, including housing, community development and economic development. She will also be able to lobby on behalf of cities before federal officials in Washington, D.C.
“I look forward to being part of discussions on issues facing Riverside and other communities around the nation,” Lock Dawson said in the statement. “I can’t wait to add Riverside’s voice to the table.”
