Telicia Lopez has been appointed San Bernardino’s city clerk.
The city’s chief deputy clerk since 2021, Lopez began her career with San Bernardino in 2003, most of that in the city clerk’s office, according to a statement released by the city.
Mayor Helen Tran and the city council approved Lopez’s appointment during the council’s Oct. 15 meeting. She had served as interim city clerk since April, following the resignation of Genoveva Rocha, who stepped down following a dispute regarding agenda errors.
“Few people know the inner workings of the City Clerk’s office better than Telicia Lopez,” Tran said in the statement. “The council and I believe she has the knowledge and expertise to lead the clerk’s office.”
