Oscar Mancillas has been named Riverside’s building official.
Mancillas has been the city’s acting building official for the past eight months, and before that was its assistant building official, according to a statement on the city’s website.
During his 20 years with the city, Mancillas has worked on a number of projects, including Kaiser Permanente’s expansion, development of the Cal Baptist University School of Business and Engineering Center, and development of the Mission Heritage Plaza.
“Oscar has shown he is the right person at this pivotal time for Riverside,” said Jennifer Lilley, community and economic development diirector, in the statement. “We are fortunate to have Oscar agree to step into this leadership role.”
In 2004, Mancillas began his career as a consulting building inspector for the city. He was hired by Riverside one year later and has held several positions there, including senior inspector and supervising building inspector, according to the statement.
