Menifee promotes Nicks to deputy city manager

Jonathan Nicks has been named Menifee’s deputy city manager.

Nicks, who has been the city’s community services director for the past five years, will continue to run that department but will also oversee the human resources and risk management departments, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Nicks has worked in municipal government for 23 years. He took over as deputy city manager Jan. 23.

“Jonathan has been a tremendous asset to Menifee and has earned the trust of our employees and the community,” said City Manager Armando Villa in the statement. “There is no doubt that Jonathan will excel in his new duties and will continue to help lead the city in the right direction.”

Before coming to Menifee, Nicks was Orange County’s deputy director of parks and community services, where he was in charge of roughly 400 employees and responsible for $120 million budget, according to the statement.
