Menifee starts “shop local” campaign

Menifee has partnered with local businesses and the city’s chamber of commerce to get residents to shop locally.

“Menifee Forward” will encourage residents to shop at Menifee businesses, especially during the COVID-19 crisis, according to a statement on the city’s website.

“We have an enormous responsibility to our local businesses to do all we can to get them through this,” Mayor Bill Zimmerman said in the statement “Menifee is a caring community and clearly recognizes the impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on our local businesses.

“It is an all-hands-on-deck effort to ensure that our businesses have the resources, and patrons to stay strong and weather the storm.”

The campaign includes:

  • A website for news and promotions;
  • Signs for businesses to remind residents to shop local;
  • Promotions and public relations via social media;
  • Direct advertising for awareness
  • Restaurant and personal service business listings.
