Michael’s, the arts and crafts retail chain, will hire more than 20,000 seasonal workers for the 2021 holiday shopping season.
The planned hires will be for stores and warehouse distribution facilities in the United States and Canada, according to a statement released by the company last week.
A seasonal hiring event is scheduled to be held on August 28 in U.S. stores and on Sept. 18 in Canadian stores.
The largest arts and crafts retailer in North America, Michael’s will hire seasonal team members “across the organization,” according to the statement.
Michael’s employees are paid competitive wages, work flexible hours and receive a 30 percent discount at company stores. Last year, more than 50 percent of the company’s seasonal in-store hires were made full-time employees.
Based in Irving, Texas, Michael’s operates more than 1,270 stores in 49 states and Canada, according to the statement.
The company has multiple locations in Southern California and the Inland Empire.
