A certain demographic group has fallen for Riverside.
The millennial population – defined by the U.S. Census Bureau as anyone between 20 and 34 years old – increased by 40 percent in the greater Riverside market between 2010 and 2013, according to a report released Thursday by the National Association of Realtors.
That was enough to make Riverside the top city in the United States for millennial population growth during that three-year period, the report stated.
Bakersfield, Las Vegas, Orlando, San Antonio, Austin, Houston and McAllen, Texas, made up the rest of the top eight, respectively.
Lower housing prices were cited as the primary reason millennials like Riverside and the rest of the cities on the list, according to the report, which cited data from Bloomberg as its source.
