Clara Miramontes has been named Perris’ city manager.
A Perris employee for more than 10 years, Miramontes was named the city’s top administrator May 11 by a unanimous vote of the city council, according to a statement on the city’s website.
Miramontes, who was appointed interim city manager in December, replaces the retired Richard Belmudez.
She is the first full-time female city manager in Perris’ 110-year history.
“I am overjoyed, humbled and honored to be appointed Perris’ city manager,” said Miramontes in the statement. “I will continue to strive to enhance the quality of life for its residents and build strong working relationships within this wonderful organization and the community.”
The council must still approve Miramontes’ contract, according to the statement.
