Rachel Molina is Hesperia’s new city manager.
Molina is scheduled to take over the city’s top administrative post June 18, according to a statement on the city website.
A longtime Hesperia resident, Molina has worked for the city for 16 years, most recently as assistant city manager. She succeeds Nils Bentsen, who retired last year.
“We are pleased to make this appointment from within our existing city leadership team that will allow for as seamless a transition for the organization and the community,” said Hesperia Mayor Brigit Bennington in the statement. “Rachel has served our community for many years and is a proven leader in municipal government.”
Molina was hired in 2007 as a senior office assistant to the city manager. Since then, she has served in various positions, including public information officer and deputy city manager, according to the statement.
