Stater Bros. will hold a moment of silence Saturday for Jack H. Brown, the supermarket chain’s longtime leader who died last month.
All 169 markets, along with the company’s San Bernardino corporate offices and distribution center, will go silent for one minute at precisely 9 a.m., according to a statement released Wednesday.
That tribute will coincide with the start of a public memorial service in Brown’s honor at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario.
Brown, who died Nov. 13 at the age of 78, joined Stater Bros. in 1981. During his 35 years with the company, he held the titles of president, chairman of the board, chief executive officer and executive chairman.
