Montclair building to become auto shop

A vacant retail building in Montclair will be converted into an automobile service business.

The 28,000-square-foot structure at 5483 Moreno St. has been sold for $4.5 million, according to Progressive Real Estate Partners in Rancho Cucamonga.

Buyer and seller were both private parties from Los Angeles whose names were not released. Progressive, which specializes in small to medium-sized retail transactions in the Inland Empire, represented the seller.

The building, which has a loading dock and ample parking, is next to Interstate 10, about a half-mile from Montclair Place shopping mall.

An estimated 252,000 vehicles pass by the site on a typical day, and approximately 447,000 residents who earn more than $72,000 a year live within 15-minutes  the property, according to Progressive.
