Cal State San Bernardino President Tomas D. Morales has received the 2025 University of Albany-SUNY (State University of New York) Excellence in Education Award from that university’s alumni association.
Morales, who received his master’s degree in 1978 and his doctorate in 1998 from the university, was honored “for opening doors and providing access to a first-class education and resources as well as pathways to success for all students,” according to a statement on Cal State San Bernardino’s website.
He was honored recently in Albany.
“When I left here, I was still figuring out where my life was going to take me,” Morales said in the statement. “In a million years, I couldn’t have dreamed of all I have had the opportunity to see and to do.”
Morales has also received honorary degrees from SUNY New Paltz, and a Doctor of Humane Letters from the American College of Thessaloniki, Greece, according to the statement.
