Moreno Valley recognized for IT practices

For a record 18th time, Moreno Valley has been recognized for its use of information technology by the Municipal Information Systems Association of America.

The city’s technology services division recently received the association’s Excellence in Information Technology Practices award, the highest award given out by the association, according to a statement on the city’s website.

Moreno Valley has won the award more times than any other city.

“Innovation is one of our highest priorities,” said Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez in the statement. “We are always looking for ways we can work smarter for our residents.”

The Excellence in Information Technology Practices award means Moreno Valley meets or exceeds the association’s standards in multiple categories, including budget and strategic planning, purchasing and operations, and staffing, according to the statement.
