Moreno Valley Mayor Yxstian Gutierrez will host a telephone town hall meeting next month.
The event, scheduled to begin at 6 p.m. Feb. 6, allows residents to ask questions and express their concerns about local issues, according to a statement on the city’s website.
The telephone town hall, which will be broadcast in English and Spanish, is believed to be more convenient than a public meeting. It follows a talk-radio format, which allows people to call in or listen.
“Community engagement is crucial,” Gutierrez said in the statement. “Our telephone town hall makes it as easy as possible for residents to hear about what’s happening in our city, ask questions, and discuss their concerns.”
Residents may register to call in by visiting Telephone Town Hall Registration Page or by emailing [email protected] and providing their name and phone number.
Registration will close at 12 p.m. February 6.
Participants will be called at 6 p.m. that evening and connected immediately to the town hall, according to the statement.
